How do I get my town silo painted?

For this answer, I will take you right from the very beginning as if you are sitting in your lounge room and just had the idea for the very first time.
  1. Make sure that you seek your local council permission first.
  2. Establish who owns the silo and get their permission also. They will become in most cases the owner of the copyright to the artwork.
  3. Research what government funding may be available to you in your area. Start writing some letters.
  4. Create a Silo/water tower art committee with people in your community with the same passion as yourself.
  5. Create a Facebook page to let people know that you are serious.
  6. Fund-raise for additional funding.
  7. You will need to engage an artist or you can contact a street art agency and they will find a suitable artist for you. They will also be instrumental in advising you on what else you may need to complete your project. Such agencies are: Zest Events International Apparition Media, Brightsiders, Juddy Roller to name a few.

Is there a photo book of all the silos?

I would love to be able to say yes, but at this stage we do not have one available. Many permissions are required from all the silo owners, artists and committee organisers and endorsements made according to sales and locations.
A great guide for more information about this topic can be found via this link.

How can I get street art added to the map?

Update! Great news, this is now something I'm working on. Please email us a screen shot of the google location with an X marks the spot, the artists name and a photo too please. Email to annette@australiansiloarttrail.com

Can I make a calendar or merchandise using a
photo of the silos art?

There are very strict Australian copyright laws regarding using silo art for a commercial gain.
GrainCorp, one of our leading silo art owners have put together a detailed document regarding this issue.
